West Hills Montessori is seeking candidates to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year as a Primary Classroom Assistant! WHMS was founded in 1968 with the mission to deliver the highest quality Montessori education with a community focus. More than 50 years later, we are continuing to grow and learn through our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

The classroom assistant is an essential member of the community. Candidates will preferably have their AMI Primary Diploma or Montessori experience and at least one year of work with children ages 3-6 years old as well as a love of working with children, a patient disposition and a positive demeanor. The candidate must also exhibit teamwork, punctuality, enthusiasm, and a flexible attitude. If you are looking for a supportive, welcoming work environment and love kids that are 3-6 years of age, this is the position for you!

Schedule: 8:00-3:30, Monday-Friday
Position start date: August 26, 2024

Requirements include:
Active enrollment in Oregon’s Central Background Registry
Current Infant/Child CPR & First-Aid training
Food Handler’s Certificate
Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training (RRCAN)
Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety training (ICCHS)
Prevention is Better Than Treatment  training (PBTT)
Foundations for Learning (FFL)

Any applicant who has not already completed the above qualifications, will have up to 30 days after their hire-date to meet these requirements.
