Busy Hands Montessori is seeking a warm, reliable, and collaborative Classroom Assistant (Teaching Partner) to join our teaching team. We are an AMS-verified Montessori in Cedar Mill, OR school serving children ages 3 months through 6 years in a thoughtfully prepared, child-centered environment.

This position is ideal for someone who values respectful communication, child development, and working as part of a cohesive teaching team.

About the Role
The Classroom Assistant (Teaching Partner) works closely with the Lead Guide to support the daily functioning of the classroom, uphold Montessori principles, and ensure a calm, orderly, and beautiful learning environment. Our Teaching Partners are essential members of the classroom community.

Who we are looking for:
Two years prior teaching experience required (as a lead, assistant, or aide)
AMS or AMI Early Childhood diploma is a plus
Comfortable managing a group of up to 10 students
Support the Lead Guide in maintaining the prepared environment
Assist children with practical life skills and daily routines
Model respectful communication and grace & courtesy
Observe children and support individual development
Help maintain classroom order, cleanliness, and material readiness
Supervise children during transitions, outdoor time, and lunch
Collaborate with staff in a professional and supportive manner
Enhance and support our Afternoon Enrichment Program

Applicants must have:
Current enrollment in the Central Background Registry
Have, or be willing to obtain, the following courses in the first 30 days of employment: Pediatric First Aid/CPR, Food Handlers certification, Safe Sleep for Oregon's Infants, Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect (RRCAN), Introduction to Childcare Health and Safety (ICCHS), Prevention is Better Than Treatment, and Foundations For Learning

Regular hours:
8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. These hours would include two 10 minute paid breaks and one unpaid 60 minute lunch break.
