About Our School  

South Hills is located in the heart of South Eugene. We are a small, tight-knit private school dedicated to providing an authentic Montessori experience. Our second Primary classroom is re-opening with 10 students currently. We pride ourselves on our family-like atmosphere and are looking for the perfect person to complete our small, dedicated team of teachers. Key Responsibilities  

Classroom Management: Maintain a beautifully prepared environment consistent with Montessori standards for children ages 2.5 to 5 years. Instruction: Deliver individualized and group lessons based on careful observation of each child’s developmental needs. Community Building: Foster strong partnerships with families through regular communication, conferences, and parent education. Collaboration: Work alongside classroom assistants and our admin team to ensure a cohesive and supportive school culture. Time Commitments: 8am to 3pm. May occasionally be needed in morning or afternoon childcare.

Candidate Requirements  

Montessori Certification: Must hold a diploma from an accredited Montessori training program (AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited). State Qualification: Must meet Oregon DELC (Department of Early Learning and Care) Teacher Qualifications at the time of hire. Experience: Experience leading a Montessori classroom is preferred. Commitment: A long-term commitment to the Montessori method and the holistic growth of every child.
