Middle School Spanish Guide

Childpeace Montessori seeks a part-time Adolescent Spanish Teacher to join our established Metro Montessori Middle School (MMM) team beginning August 2021.

Our ideal candidate is a Spanish educator with at least two years of classroom experience at the middle school or high school level, strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, and experience serving diverse learning needs. Native Spanish language skills, AMI Montessori Orientation to Adolescent Studies, AMI Elementary Training, valid Oregon teaching credentials AMI Elementary Training, and/or TPRS/Comprehensible Input methodology experience is a plus. A passion for working with the adolescent age group is a must.

This is a part-time position working approximately 20 hours per week. The wage range begins at $23.00 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements upon hire:
At least 18 years of age
Ability to pass a Department of Human Services Background Check
Ability to pass a Sexual Misconduct Verification Check through the Department of Education and/or the Teachers Standards and Practices Commission

Within 30 days must obtain:
Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certificate
Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (RRCAN)
Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety (ICCHS)
Prevention is Better Than Treatment (PBTT)
