The Montessori School of Beaverton (MSB) is a private non-profit school serving the Portland metro area. The school was established in 1978 and is located in the northwest hills on a beautiful 6-acre campus. MSB is home to a thriving and vibrant community of dedicated staff and families invested in the education, development and nurturing of its 180 students, ages 3 – 12.

Job Description:

We are a small, non-profit school seeking a diligent IT Specialist to take care of all our IT needs, and then some. You will be responsible for installing or upgrading components, setting up software, assisting with network administration, database management, and resolving all IT support issues. We are looking for someone with customer service experience, who is a team player and enjoys working with others in a tight-knit administrative team.

IT Specialist Responsibilities:
Installing and maintaining new software and hardware components.
Recommend, procure and inventory hardware and software.
Regularly evaluating our IT systems to ensure they meet the necessary demands.
Overseeing network administration tasks.
Ensuring data storage is safe and secure.
Resolving all issues coworkers have with their IT systems and software.
Educating coworkers about network security and best practices for computer usage.
Supporting the day-to-day operations of our computer network and staff.
Analyze organizations needs and develop a prudent strategy for the implementation and use of all campus hardware, software and IT infrastructure.
Create technological efficiencies that increase organization productivity.
Serve as acting webmaster.
Serve as acting database manager.
Relational Database knowledge.
Provide office and program support as needed.

IT Specialist Requirements:
High school diploma.
Degree in computer science or a related field is preferable (or equivalent experience).
Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Personable, professional demeanor.
Proficient with MAC and OS, and familiar with a range of software and hardware.
Must be a team player with great customer service and interpersonal skills.

General Information:
Part Time: 20 hours per week
Paid holidays
