CVMS has been serving Southwest Portland for over 35 years. We have 8 classrooms that range from Infancy through Elementary. Currently, we are seeking a Lead teacher for one of our Primary classrooms to begin at some point this summer. We are looking for a confident, respectful role-model with a sense of humor, ingenuity, positive attitude and flexibility to boot…now, more than ever! While we know there are so many options in this field, we are confident that CVMS would be a meaningful work environment for a trained guide.

Qualified candidates should be trained by a MACTE accredited training institution and have a strong sense of the Montessori scope and sequence. Ideal candidates will have experience leading a primary classroom; comfortable hiking in local woods and taking care of animals and gardens; as well as comfortable with daily observation and record keeping in transparent classroom (happy to train here). If you have strong communications skills, a passion for Montessori education, love to work collaboratively with adults and children, and want to be a leader in a rooted Montessori program, then this may be a positive fit!
