ABOUT THE POSITION:
Lewis & Clark Montessori School has been serving families since 2008. We are a public charter school, dedicated to making Montessori accessible to all. Our school spans Primary through Middle School.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team of three AMI trained Primary guides, as our Primary program prepares to start the 2023 - 2024 school year at a new site. The Primary program will be located in Gresham, behind Springwater Trail High School.
We are looking for two part-time classroom assistants to work with children ages 2.5- 6.
This is an ideal time to share your talents with warm and supportive staff. We are highly passionate about, experienced in and faithful to the Montessori approach.
•We will help you grow professionally and personally.
• Training both in-house and through external training centers will be offered.
• You must have a willingness to create an inclusive learning environment, and work in partnership with guides to build a strong community of children who move about with kindness, curiosity and an open heart.
Morning Part-Time Assistant:
• 7:30 am - 1:00 pm, Monday through Thursday
• There is an additional option to work 7:45 am - 3:30 pm on Friday.
• As a Morning Part-Time Assistant, you will work in a classroom with a trained guide, as well as work to support the three classrooms during times of transition. Transitions include half-day dismissal, time outside, lunch, and nap.
Afternoon Part-Time Assistant:
• 11:15 pm - 4:45 pm, Monday through Thursday
• There is an additional option to work 7:45 am - 3:30 pm on Friday.
• As an Afternoon Part-Time Assistant, you will support mid-day needs and work in the aftercare program.
As a Montessori classroom assistant you will see first hand children thrive, as the growth of their body, mind, heart and spirit is honored within a specially prepared environment.

Minimum requirements:
• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A willingness to develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, students and families
• An ability to write and speak fluently English
• Speaking a second language is a plus, but is not required
