Currently seeking a full time, Infant/Toddler Teacher that is ready to join a team of others that are passionate about what they do, are friendly and are hardworking. Qualified candidates will have prior classroom management experience, be considered teacher qualified in the State of Oregon, be enrolled in Central Background Registry and be flexible in implementing learning/utilizing the Montessori philosophy. Teachers are expected to build relationships with families and keep others informed of child progress in a safe classroom environment. Duties Include (but are not limited to):
• Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs
• Utilize developmentally appropriate practice and best practice methods at all times
• Be a professional, positive role model for all care giving staff and children
• Prepare the classroom environment to be engaging and clean
• Supporting children’s functional independence, develop language by communicating and supervise/address safety concerns
Requirements
• At least on year of classroom experience with younger children and/or a degree in Infant/Toddler Montessori
• Positive communication style that supports empathy, socialization and vocabulary building
• Ability to follow directions for implementing policies and procedures
• Knowledge/understanding of the Oregon Certified Childcare Center Rule Book and be able to implement rules
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
Obtainable upon hire:
• Enrolled in Oregon Central Background Registry
• Current certifications: CPR/1st Aid, Food Handlers card, Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, Introduction to Health & Safety, Foundations for Learning, Safe Sleep for Infants
