Childpeace Montessori School is seeking an Admissions Director to join our Administration team. The

Admissions Director is a year-round, full-time, salary, exempt position with scheduled hours occurring

within campus operation hours. Childpeace offers a competitive salary structure based on qualification

About Childpeace:

Childpeace Montessori School serves children from 14 months through eighth grade on two campuses in Northwest and Southeast Portland. Childpeace’s classrooms offer a beautiful, vibrant environment in

northwest Portland three blocks from the Willamette River near several urban parks, walking trails, and

restaurants. The school is located near major bike and bus routes; many employees commute by bike,

bus, or walk. Childpeace supports our staff with an educational program rooted in high Montessori

Admissions Director Overview:

The Admissions Director is responsible for representing and marketing the school to parents,

prospective parents, and the community in order to bring in new students and retain current students.

This includes managing the entire admission process and events from initial inquiry to enrollment and

integration into the school and classroom.


The Admissions Director works as a part of the school’s advancement team, which includes marketing,

communications, development, and community involvement. The Admissions Director is responsible for collaborating with the other members of the advancement team to achieve advancement goals around admission, re-enrollment, and school marketing/communications.


The Admissions Director collaborates with Program Directors to gain insight and understanding into

classroom capacity, program enrollment needs, and classroom staff communication.


The Admissions Director is responsible for the aesthetic presentation and marketing of the school

building. The Admission Director communicates to Program Directors regarding the need to keep the

school in excellent condition. The Admission Director runs all admission events and coordinates the

details of events including content, set up, refreshments, etc.

 

Advancement Goals

• Develop and implement external and internal marketing and parent retention plan

• Research and initiate opportunities to attract new students through networking and marketing 

• Support efforts toward public relations for the school 


Recruitment and Retention Goals

• Build a network of relationships with outside institutions or groups (schools, faith organizations,

civic associations) that can be helpful in attracting quality students;

• Develop relationships with feeder schools in the Portland area.

• Work with the Head of School and Program Directors in creating positive prospective and

current parent experiences through tours and events

• Coordinate and participate in recruitment and re-recruitment events

• Work with members of the administrative team and faculty to organize specific retention efforts

• Gain the respect and trust of parents and other parties and provide a positive influence in their

decision-making process for admission 


Admission Management

• Manage the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment 

• Prompt follow-up with inquiries and drawing them to visit the school

• Scheduling and conducting tours and open houses

• Following up with prospective families who visit and encouraging them to apply

• Guiding families through the admissions process

• Supporting families with the Tuition Assistance process

• Secure and track necessary documentation for applications

• Communicate admissions decisions to applicants and encourage them to enroll

• Work with new families to integrate them into the school.

• Maintain and improve school relationships with Childpeace families

• Coordinate and manage the re-enrollment process

• Data management regarding admissions, enrollment, withdrawals, inquiries, applicants, and

attrition. 

• Maintain statistics on a daily basis, to be communicated to the Head of School and periodically

to the Board.


Reporting Relationships

• The Admissions Director reports to the Head of School.

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, or Non-profit

Management AND one to three years of professional experience in admissions, marketing

and/or communications (Any combination of years of experience and education to meet the

requirement will be considered. Master’s degree preferred)

• Experience in private school admissions, Montessori school admissions preferred

• Experience with Schooladmin, FACTS, Finalsite, and/or Veracross, is preferred
