School members of OMA may post classified ads for no charge by emailing the ad to us. Individual members may also run classified ads for themselves at no charge, but ads on behalf of non-member schools will be charged the fee for advertising.

Non-members may email us an ad and we will post it for a fee of $50. Ads are kept for 2 months. We ask that all ads be related to employment at local Montessori schools, the selling or purchasing of Montessori materials, or other matters of general professional interest to our membership. We reserve the right to remove any ads that do not fall within these guidelines

The co-administrator will also help ease the transition to a new campus in 2011-2012. Ridgeline Montessori serves students in kindergarten through grade 8.

Ridgeline Montessori seeks a TSPC-licensed educator (or an educator with equivalency through TSPC) with significant classroom and administrative experience, and with whom the Montessori philosophy strongly resonates. After Care Toddler Teacher Needed:

Days: Monday – Friday

Hours: 2:30-6:30pm (20 hours/week)

Start Date: This position is being offered for the 2010-2011 school year, starting September 1.

Requirements:

Experience working in early childhood education settings (particularly toddler or Montessori)

Registered with the Oregon Criminal History Registry

Child/Infant First Aid and CPR

Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect

Responsibilities:

Direct supervision of the aftercare toddler children (and occasionally a mix of toddlers and primary children

The AC toddler teacher is responsible for guiding children towards engaging in individual work or group activities, snack preparation, outdoor supervision

Making and recording daily observations

Diaper changing/toilet training

General maintenance and cleaning of the environments

There is also the possibility that this position could include more than 20 hours per week for various reasons: monthly deep cleaning duties, shift switches, morning substitute work and daycare during school closures

Puddletown School has lost their lease!

Puddletown is currently located at 3214 SE Holgate, Portland, OR 97202 and seeks a facility within a mile of their current location.

Ideally the new location would be within the area bounded by Burnside, Bybee and MLK.

Facility Needs:

• 2000-3000 sq feet (2 classrooms and space for a small office)
• At least 3 toilets/sinks for children
• Kitchen area for dishwashing, baking and preparing snack (children bring their own lunch)
• Approximately 1600 sq feet of outdoor space on site (can be a parking lot where we can get creative)
• Available ASAP but no later than December 2010.
Building approved or approvable for educational occupancy (this mostly means that it is up to date with all health and safety codes for the City of Portland)
• Budget of $1100-$3000 per month.
